More Than Just Desserts

A fundraiser for The Arthritis Society

In honour of Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month, The Arthritis Society' will be hosting the annual More Than Just Desserts gala. This event is the signature local fundraising event for The Arthritis Society in Ottawa. Raising the Bid will join 300 guests in sampling the best in food and drink donated by local supporters of The Arthritis Society. Last year’s event marked a milestone of growth, raising nearly $30,000 towards research and programs/services for people with arthritis.

As an active volunteer with the OHS, I, along with my family have adopted and fostered numerous animals over the last several years. I know first-hand how important the work of the Ottawa Humane Society is in our community. Each year, the OHS rescues and cares for more than 11,000 neglected, abused, stray and homeless animals.

Many people have been affected by mental illness in some way, shape or form. It's time to take action and make a difference.

Join us for an incredible evening consisting of a fashion show by Shepherd's Fashions, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, both a silent and live auction, the opportunity to connect and network with Ottawa's Distinctive Women, and most importantly, support an outstanding initiative – Women for Mental Health!

A Taste for Hope

The THEME IS FOOD. In celebration of 30 years of service for the most vulnerable men and women in our community, Shepherds of Good Hope will host an extraordinary culinary event with a live and silent auction. This first-of-its-kind event will take place as part of Winterlude festivities. You can join us in Jean Pigott Hall at Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West. All proceeds from this event will go towards the $100,000 kitchen revitalization project where last year 700,000 meals were served.

MPI Ottawa and our fellow industry professionals at CSAE in an evening out for a good cause. The Annual MPI Ottawa Charity Auction and Dinner will take place following the CSAE Tête-à-Tête Tradeshow. There will be a Live Auction. Silent Auction, and a Ticket Raffle with all proceeds benefiting the Ottawa School Breakfast Program. This is one of the best attended events of the year – with over 650 guests.

Raising the Bid is looking forward to conducting the auction for the third year in a row. With last year being one of the largest donation collections for the program, this years goals are set even higher!
